Protecting America's Abused Children's founders began research  in 2001 to better understand child abuse, the impact of child abuse over time in a victim's life, how abuses relate to productivity, quality of life, and relationships in marriage and their own children.

In 2005, Protecting America's Abused Children beganworking with Clark County as a charitable organization eligible to offer work for people required to do community service as ordered by a court.

In most cases, (PAAC)  discovered community services workers were party to abuse related offenses such as domestic violence, drug abuse, alcohol abuse, unpaid child support (neglect-abandonment) and various low level crimes related to a pattern of one or more of those abuses.

Further research revealed that apart from a few community service workers involved in drug or alcohol abuse (which alters behavior), workers were from multicultural backgrounds with a lifestyle of being and/or were currently misfortunate.

The commonality between cultural and geographic backgrounds is narrowed to human behaviors,  inner-city/urban, and misfortune despite differences cultural and environmental conditions.

We believe that America's most valuable resource for a strong future is in the children, yet the most overlooked as a resource for America's future is misfortunate childrenwho by no choice of their own are robbed of the opportunities available to those who are not from misfortunate families... simply because they lack the resources and a level playing field because they are  misfortunate.
